Alaska overtime rules for field crews

Alaska is one of the small number of states with a daily overtime threshold on top of the federal weekly rule.

What the law requires

Overtime at one and a half times the regular rate past 8 hours in a workday as well as past 40 in a workweek.

Alaska Stat. § 23.10.060(b)Read the primary source

What it means on a crew

Four ten-hour days is 8 hours of overtime in Alaska and none at all under the federal rule alone.

What Punchless does

The daily threshold is applied at 8 with no state double-time tier, and weekly promotion applies only to hours still counted as straight time.

Every rule we enforce is published with the statute behind it and the test that checks it, so this is a claim you can verify rather than take on faith.
