What this does and does not do
It computes one employee's week under one set of rules. It does not price a missed meal or rest period - Labor Code 226.7 owes an hour at the regular rate of compensation, which under Ferra v. Loews includes nondiscretionary bonuses, and that needs a bonus table this page does not have. It also assumes a single base rate; someone working two classifications in a week is a harder problem.
The arithmetic is not the interesting part - anyone can multiply. What matters is that this is the same split our payroll exports use, checked against the engine at build time, so the number here is the number the product would pay. Every rule behind it is published with its statute and the test that checks it.
