busybusy's own site is inconsistent about trial length, showing a 14-day trial on the pricing cards and a 30-day trial in a call to action on the GPS feature page. No credit card is required either way. Their free tier is a real product, not a demo, and for a cost-constrained crew it is a serious option.

Does busybusy clock employees in automatically?+
No. On every tier, clocking in is a manual action. busybusy uses GPS to send a location-based reminder when someone arrives, to restrict clock-in to inside a geofence with on-site verification, and to record breadcrumbs once someone is clocked in. Their own FAQ confirms GPS is only tracked while an employee is already clocked in. It is a well-built version of a manual system rather than an automatic one.
busybusy has a free tier. Why would I pay for Punchless?+
If your budget is zero, that is a completely reasonable reason to use busybusy, and their free tier is a real product with GPS time tracking and job costing for unlimited users. The case for paying us is that the free tier does not solve forgotten clock-ins, because no version of busybusy does. If your hours are wrong because people forget rather than because you lack software, free does not fix it.
Which is better for equipment tracking?+
busybusy, without question. Their equipment module tracks machine hours against idle time and, for supported equipment, fuel and battery health. Punchless keeps equipment and asset records tied to jobs but does not do utilization reporting. If equipment utilization drives your decisions, that is a strong reason to stay.
How long is the busybusy free trial?+
Their own site says both. The pricing cards show a 14-day trial and a call to action on their GPS tracking page shows 30 days. No credit card is required in either place. We are flagging the inconsistency rather than picking whichever number suits us; check their site before you plan around it.
Does busybusy do certified payroll?+
We could not find certified payroll or prevailing-wage reporting documented on busybusy's own payroll pages, so we are not going to claim either way. Punchless generates certified payroll natively from approved timecards, on every plan. If you do prevailing-wage work, ask them directly rather than relying on our reading of their site.
