Colorado meal break rules for field crews
Colorado sets its own daily overtime threshold and meal rule through the COMPS Order, which is reissued periodically - check the current year's number before relying on it.
What the law requires
An uninterrupted, duty-free 30-minute meal period for shifts in excess of 5 consecutive hours.
What it means on a crew
Exclusive, like California - "in excess of" 5 hours, so exactly 5.0 owes nothing.
What Punchless does
The threshold is applied exclusively and asserted by test at the boundary. A meal worked through is already hours worked, so no premium is added - California's hour does not apply here.
