Colorado overtime rules for field crews
Colorado sets its own daily overtime threshold and meal rule through the COMPS Order, which is reissued periodically - check the current year's number before relying on it.
What the law requires
Overtime at one and a half times the regular rate past 12 hours in a workday, past 12 consecutive hours, or past 40 in a workweek - whichever is greatest.
What it means on a crew
Colorado has no double-time tier at all, so a 13-hour day is 12 straight and 1 at time and a half and nothing is ever paid at 2x.

Where we fall short
The "12 consecutive hours" prong is not implemented. We evaluate hours by workday, and a shift spanning midnight is split at local midnight before the rule is applied, so a continuous 13-hour stretch across two calendar days is not caught.
